The modernisation of current education systems should address two domains, the modernisation of the management of educationalinstitutions as well as the modernisation of pedagogics and training. This can be achieved by a set of modular approaches, nevertheless keeping a holistic approach in mind.
Education Management Information System (EMIS) Having adequate data is a major obstacle hindering the development of well-informed policies and procedures which are designed to improve the quality and efficiency of the education system. A fully implemented and operational Educational Management Information System (EMIS) is the key in the achievement of these tasks.
Quickly accessible information is the basis of modern school management. In an age of electronic administration and networking, the efficient implementation of professional software solutions for schools and school officials is becoming an increasingly important success factor.
EMIS is not just about getting data onto a computer; rather it provides the tool for conceptual research and the analytical investigation of the collected data. The system empowers officials at different levels in the school system with the capacity to dis-aggregate economic, infrastructure, social (including minority groups) and educational data in terms of rural/urban and central, regional, district, municipal and school levels.
An Educational Management and Information System has to provide basic data of all educational organisations, all pupils and their complete history of school attendance, marks and certificates as well as employment data of all teachers and other personnel in educational organisations. It has to be implemented as a central solution with possibility to retrieve statistical data at any time – through all levels of school management and/or supervision of schools.
The core components of EMIS are:
Management of Educational Institutions
Human Resource Management
Management of Pupils/Students
Electronic Classes Register
e-Diary An e-Diary is a learning network that modernizes and makes daily teaching and learning processes much easier. It is a Web based system for children, their parents, teachers and all school administration can become the main daily tool since it not only replaces paper diaries and grade books, but ensures a faster and more effective accounting of class attendance, necessary reports and closer communication among social or private groups from any part of the world.
Every system user has a different login ID and password and uses the adapted functions:
All students are able to see their learning results, ratings, schedules and the changes. Parents, even those who live abroad, have a possibility to see their child learning results, attendance, ratings, teacher's remarks, etc. They are able to communicate with teachers and class supervisors via system.
Teachers do not have to calculate the averages or missed classes or rewrite reports anymore. Tasks like this can be conducted by specific e-Diary functionalities. Class- and School Supervisors are able to monitor the matters of their classes, organize class/school activities, parents meetings, etc. They can promptly receive information about the school's academic records, subjects, teachers, parents, and other relevant information.
Our e-Diary is the All-in-One Solution to comfortably communicate relevant educational information between all education partners. The e-Diary can be directly linked with EMIS.
Centralised School Leaving Examinations The introduction of a Digital Delivery and Management System for Centralised School Leaving Examinations provides transparency concerning the performance of the public education system, especially at the level of higher secondary schools. In addition such a system guarantees uniform educational standards, independently from single school locations or teachers.
A Digital Delivery and Management System for Centralised School Leaving Examinations consist of the following system infrastructure:
Central Exam Authoring
Central Exam Data Storage
Central Exam Delivery (e-Workflow)
Student’s & Teacher’s Exam Clients including Auto-Evaluation and Reporting
Besides the creation of uniform education standards and comparable education performance data the benefits will be the standardization of the entire exam creation-, delivery-, review- and marking process, protected from abuse and manipulation and of course reduced costs through simplification of the administrative procedures.
e-Books for Education A Digital Textbook (e-book) is the publication of a book in digital form. It may consist of text and images, just like printed book, and is usually readable via a standard Web browser without further requirements. E-books provide all the benefits of printed books, but offer, besides reduced costs for upgrade and delivery, additional innovative assets in modern education:
Digital textbooks are anywhere and anytime available.
They are flexible applicable by adding private or public comments and notifications online.
They are connected offering the possibility to share Para data (e.g. questions) with other students, groups or teachers. Reduced costs for content upgrade and delivery.
Electronic schoolbooks will be provided via a central portal which fulfils all processes of deployment, booking, delivery and updating. The HTML 5 based bookshelf technology works as the digital e-Book reader for all digital titles. It enables a collaborative learning experience (online and offline) while protecting the content through a digital rights management mechanism.
e-Academy Learning management systems (LMS) are the logistical hubs of modern learning in education and businesses. This is where employees or students and learning content join together, where study groups exchange ideas and where learning progress is consolidated. They distribute study programs to all sites, regional or worldwide, in the blink of an eye: e-Books, Video, Podcasts or simple documents. Through tablets and other mobile devices, the concept of easy access, any place, any time has taken on a new dimension.
By combining a classical VLM (Virtual Learning Environment) with social media elements and the possibility to map syllabi of complete training courses based on any multi-media content available, our e-Academy offers an impressively simple yet powerful digital learning and training environment, which can be provided to government employees, students in all forms of education and even to the public (citizens), regardless of the devices they use. The technical basis for this e-Academy is our Mobile Learning suite. It allows high-quality learning and information solutions to be produced and distributed quickly to all mobile devices, for which it was awarded the European Seal of e-Excellence at the CeBIT conference.
The e-Academy offers all the basic functions required for learning management in extension with modules for authoring, mandatory training, profile based qualification or testing. It enables you to create a solution which perfectly addresses the requirements of any kind of educational training project.
e-Academy has been specially developed for use on mobile devices and can be delivered preinstalled (e.g. on Tablets) together with the selected course packages ore even complete training programs.
Digital Content Authoring To create added value for e-Contents a simple transfer of text to digital content will not be enough. Distinguishing between performing-, problem-oriented- and explorative (constructive) teaching methods modern content should consider specific media characteristics.
Traditional educational offerings are primarily delivered by experts presenting theory, i.e. the teachers are active and the participants absorb the material passively. The central thrust of activity orientation is the meshing of theoretical knowledge with practical examples and experience and social interaction, thus connecting learners and their requirements.
Learners should be addressed individually so that they are ready to be involved and to participate actively. The integration of exercises and tasks with a strong connection to professional situations can promote interaction and thereby contribute to an improved knowledge transfer.
bit group offers dedicated Authoring Tools to support teachers and educational organisations in the development of such sophisticated e-learning material.
Our Content Creator an online tool which allows the creation of homogeneous designed e-learning content using sophisticated templates with clear and simple navigation. It offers features such as one-click deployment of video or flash animations, various types of online assessments as well as a glossary function or full text search.
Content projects created are optimized to be used via learning platforms and mobile devices.
